What's Happening

We hope that friends who visit during the 'early days' will take away fond memories that will bring them back again and again to feel a part of the growing community which will be synonymous with Sangha Retreat France. Regular visitors may wish to spend extended periods here or even join in with some of the daily tasks that make community living so rewarding, friends wishing to do this will of course be offered incentives as well as gratitude and merits. Any friends with special skills such as plumbers, carpenters or gardeners may wish to offer their services in return for free accommodation.

Garden

There is always lots to do in the garden.
Though here at Sangha Retreat we don't currently have the knowledge or experience to make best use of the land.
We have lovely mature gardens as well as our one and a half acres of field/paddock.

Looking For Help

If you would like to help, organise and, or take the lead in setting up our kitchen/vegetable garden we would be most grateful. There is a great opportunity here if you are a keen gardener with some free time to work on our land and develop a vegetable garden capable of sustaining our household.

Grow What We Eat

With over an acre and a half of land to look after, care for and make the best use of our gardens are a great challenge for us. We would be happy to offer long term accommodation for help setting up our small holding.

Our Retreat has been conceived to give everyone the chance to enjoy time away in a peaceful and calm environment. We do hope you will take the opportunity at minimal cost to join us here in Limousin and embrace and share our current facilities and future vision.

We delight in our basic and rustic lifestyle and invite those, like minded, to engage with us whilst we work in creating an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity that can be enjoyed by all.

Retreat Manager - 2018

We are looking to appoint a ‘hands on, can do’ minded Retreat Manager for 2018. Proactive with proven organisational ability; you will enjoy comfortable accommodation, food allowance and use of vehicle for the benefit of the project.
This is an opportunity to enjoy the beautiful and tranquil setting of Sangha Retreat during the spring and summer months and into autumn of 2018 (or beyond!)

Future Projects

Although we are happy in our current cottage, in order to offer improved accommodation  and extend our welcome to more friends we are planning to renovate and convert a further cottage and barns. This work will be ongoing with opportunities all year round.

There is always lots to do at the Retreat.
If you are looking for an extended break and would like to help we would be pleased to hear from you.
The Retreat is self financing so we are only able to offer free accommodation and food in return for help.

Peace of mind - "the absence of mental stress or anxiety"

All living beings have the same basic wish to be happy and avoid suffering, but very few people understand the real causes of happiness and suffering.

We generally believe that external conditions e.g. material posessions and money are the real causes of happiness, and as a result we devote time and energy to acquiring these.

Superficially it seems that these things can make us happy, but if we look more deeply we shall see that they also bring us suffering and problems.
